| The bouquet and garter toss are extremely fun and energetic traditions that involve lots of involvement from your guests. They are also a great way to get everyone's attention back on the dancefloor after the Money Dance or the Cake Cutting.
THE BOUQUET TOSS The tradition is that the lady who catches the bouquet will be the next one to be married, so it's important for all the single ladies to come out to the dancefloor. Various thematic music titles can be played during this "recruitment" to enhance the excitement of this event (click here to see a list of fun bouquet toss song ideas). Typically what follows is that all single ladies report to the dancefloor. Once all single ladies are on the dancefloor, the room joins in a countdown. On three the Bride tosses the bouquet over her shoulders towards the single ladies. There are a number of ways we can "mix this event up" to match the Bride's preferences. Some families may have additional special traditions to go along with the bouquet toss, such as the La Vibora De La Mar.
THE GARTER TOSS TFor the garter toss all single gentlemen are asked to report to the dancefloor. There are also fun special songs to be used for this tradtions (click here for a list of song ideas). Once the single men are all one the dancefloor, the groom begins to remove the garter from the leg of his bride (fun song titles for this occasion). Once the garter is removed, the room joins in a countdown to three, where the groom sends the garter over his shoulder soaring to the crowd of his single friends. There are many fun ways for this entire event to take place, and this is discussed beforehand to determine what fits the tastes of the Bride and Groom. Very often it is fun to have the winner of the garter now place it on the leg of the lady who caught the bouquet. There are other fun ways to conduct this tradition, which Daniel Peterson will plan out with the Bride and Groom before the wedding day.
