There are a number of ways to conduct the toast. In San Diego many Brides and Grooms prefer to have it take place it after dinner, just before the newlyweds' first dance. In many parts of the country however it is the custom to have it right before dinner is served. Either way is very nice, it's just a matter of the Bride and Groom's preference and the traditions of their families. |
| The first person to give the toast is traditionally the Best Man. The Maid of Honor may follow, as may the Father of the Bride and the Father of the Groom. On occasion the mic may be opened to other family members and friends. |
